"Enid Chadwick's Saints"

St Mary, Kettlebaston, Suffolk

St Mary, Kettlebaston, Suffolk

The rood screen in Kettlebaston was designed in the early part of the last century by Father Ernest Geldart and constructed around this time.
The painting as we see it today though isn't quite as old dating back to 1949 when it was added by Patrick Osbourne. The Saints are slightly younger being added a few years later in 1954 by Enid Chadwick from Walsingham in Norfolk.

There are six Saints, three on each side. These are St Felix as a Bishop Holding a candle, St Thomas More, St Thomas of Canterbury with a sword through his mitre, St John Fisher holding a book, St Alban in a suit of Armour and St Fursey holding Burgh Castle.

Here is a LINK a an illustrated book also by Enid Chadwick which illustrates the church year.
