Those of you who have visited this blog before will have heard me talking of my passion for exploring churches and how the most exciting part of this is persuading the churches to reveal their hard to find treasures from the past.
This blog post is about just such as example.
Foxton is famous for its series of seven locks which form part of the grand union canal but a mile away perched high at the top end of the village is St Andrews church.
I had visited this on more than one occasion before I found what has become my favourite feature of the church, its ancient roof carvings.
The church is dark and the ceiling high and at a first glance looks very ordinary. With a powerful flash gun and a telephoto lens though its secrets can be revealed.
These wonderful carvings which date back many hundreds of years are everywhere.
The church is usually open from dawn to dusk
