St Peter and St Paul, Eye, Suffolk
Suffolk probably has more angel ceilings in its churches than any other county in England. Most aren't painted and simply have the patina of age, others though have the remains of ancients paints that can be difficult to decifer from floor level, other have been repainted and restored to their original glory. This is the case for a number of the angels and other figures in Eye. With the figures so high and the churches usually dark, photographing them can be quite a challenge. In this case I opted for the natural light coming from the window just below the angel and the king.
