In the heart of the Pork Pie town of Melton Mowbray lies the cruciform church of St Marys which has a number of superb tombs. In the above examle two angles are gnelty supporting the heart of the resting figure, their tiny hands supporting the pillow on which the head rests.
Below time has taken its toll on the marble which is worn and stained around the face of the male figure.
St Marys is open every day and definitely worth a visit.
